WHAT IS BODYFX?
BodyFX by InMode is an FDA-approved body-contouring and cellulite treatment. It uses radiofrequency energy, deep-tissue heating, and light vacuum suction to tighten the skin and melt fat cells. Although the technology can be used for fat reduction anywhere on the body, the most commonly treated body areas are the tummy, hips, thighs, flanks (aka love handles), and back.
We also offer MiniFX, which can treat smaller fat deposits in areas like the upper arms and under the chin.

What happens during a BodyFX treatment?
A BodyFX treatment is relatively quick—10 minutes for each six-by-six-inch treatment area—and doesn’t involve downtime, aside from some short-term redness in the treated area. Before you start, alert your provider to any open wounds, active infections, bruises, or sunburned areas to avoid.
Your provider will apply a handpiece that uses negative pressure suction to isolate the fatty tissue. You'll feel warmth from the radiofrequency energy and a gentle pulling sensation, similar to a deep tissue massage. Once the tissue is heated, the handpiece delivers controlled energy pulses that kill fat cells. Most patients find the procedure quite tolerable, although some RealSelf members say they experienced shooting pains.
Doctors recommend drinking plenty of water, before and after treatment, to promote healing and help your body metabolize and eliminate the dead fat cells.
How soon will you see BodyFX results?
Six to eight weekly treatment sessions are recommended for optimal body shaping and cellulite reduction results, which you can expect to see approximately six months after your last treatment (though some BodyFX patients report noticeable fat reduction after just a few visits). Skin tightening tends to take longer, since it’s dependent on gradual collagen remodeling.
In clinical trials, the average patient saw a 68% reduction in the appearance of cellulite and a circumferential reduction of 3.58 centimeters in the treated area.
Is BodyFX permanent?
The treatment permanently destroys fat cells, but you'll need to exercise regularly and stick to a healthy diet to keep up your fat reduction results, since any remaining cells in the area can expand with weight gain.
How does BodyFX compare to CoolSculpting?
Although both are effective noninvasive body-contouring solutions, BodyFX and CoolSculpting use very different technologies: BodyFX uses radiofrequency to melt fat cells, while CoolSculpting induces cell death via freezing. Both treatments kill fat cells, but only BodyFX also boosts collagen production, tightens skin, and reduces the appearance of cellulite.
For CoolSculpting, providers might recommend two hourlong sessions, depending on the area being treated; BodyFX often requires six to eight 30-minute treatments.
CoolSculpting results in, on average, a 25% loss of fat in the treated area over four to six months, while BodyFX produces a 39.6% reduction, on average, after three months.
Forma by InMode
WHAT IS FORMA?
Forma is a skin and tissue remodeling technology equipped with a subdermal heating applicator. Radiofrequency travels via electrodes to deliver a non-invasive and pain-free treatment, and its controls allow the device to reach optimal temperatures. Forma effectively treats the forehead, upper and lower eyelids, nasolabial folds, jowls and neck.
